The Secret Place Day 1

Psalm 119 King James Version (KJV)
119: 1  Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord.

Let's look at each word with Strong's

  • Blessed- Strong's 835. esher - happiness, blessedness
    • Original Word: אַשְׁרֵי
  • undefiled- Strong's 8549. tamim - complete, sound, whole, entire, innocent
    • Original Word: תָּמִים
  • in the way - Strong's 1870. derek - way, road, distance, journey, manner
    • Original Word: דְּרָכַ֫יִם
  • who walk - Strong's 1980. halak - to go, come, walk
    • Original Word: הָלַך
  • in the law - Strong's 8451. torah - direction, instruction, law
    •   eg- the first 5 books in the Tenakh (Bible) is the Torah
    • Original Word: תּוֹרָה
  • of the Lord - Strong's 3068. Yhvh (Yehovah; Jehovah) - the proper name of the God of Israel
    • Original Word: יְהֹוָה

  • So, Happy, or blessed, are the innocent in the way, journey, who walk in the instruction of Yehovah.
    • Why is he happy, who walks in the instruction of the Lord?
      • They are obedient to Yehovah. To be obedient, they must first have heard the word of God. So they hear God, they take time to listen to what God is saying, and then, in OBEDIENCE, they carry out what God has told them.
        • Does that mean they always do what God say, no questions asked?
          • No. We all complain at one point or another, or are unsure. The Bible says to test the Spirits. God is happy when you ask Him for conformation, it means you are discerning what it is that enters into your spirit.
    • What does it mean to walk in the instruction/ law of Yehovah?
      • Walk in His commandments... Not just the 10, but EVERY one of them.
      • Many people say that the law is done away with, but Yeshua(Jesus) himself said-->

  • Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. ( fulfill, as in to add into, complete, fill fuller) We now focus on Christ in the following of the law, rather then freedom from Egypt.
      • So, we must daily walk in the instruction of God. Reading his Word, understanding His laws and instruction. Loving our neighbors, blessing those that persecute us...
