Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. — Psalm 95:6-7 (NIV)

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

Worship is more than our heart, soul and words offered to God. It also involves our posture. When we understand the grace God has given us to be called his children, what else can we do but bow down or kneel before him in his majesty and might. We come to him, a conquering ruler, offering ourselves in full submission. God chooses, however, to treat us tenderly like a loving shepherd who longs to care for us. Such grace leads us to bow and kneel in heartfelt worship.

                    My Prayer...

Shepherd of my soul, I come to you seeking your protection and rest as one of your sheep. I often find myself harried and driven by life's pressures and temptations. But I come to you submitting myself to be used for your glory — not just today, but for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Temptation

As we glorify God each day, let's remember that whatever we face, and in every struggle, God is there. Ready to guide and help you.

Sometimes, when we don't hear from God, we think He's gone, that He left. But really, God allows what happens to us to happen so that when the next challenge comes we are stronger and able to face it.
Also, He may not answer the way we expect.

Every temptation we face, is common to man
Hebrews 12:1-3 is a very encouraging scripture...but also remember what Jesus said when He was tempted - it is written.

Find a scripture and rebuke Satan...

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

Those of us who have been Christians a long time sometimes forget that we have no claim or right to the grace we have received. When we feel we deserve it, that it is ours by right, it is no longer grace and we no longer live in it. To be a part of God's family is grace. For the Holy One who spoke into existence the universe (in which we are a submicroscopic speck), grace is simply and magnificently a gift from the One who knows how to share and love in ways we can't even imagine.

My Prayer...

For the incredible and boundless love you have given to me, O Almighty God, I can only fall to my knees and thank you. Your power is beyond my comprehension. Your awesome holiness is beyond my understanding. Yet your infinite grace is mine because of your love which cost you so much. Thank you. A million times over I say it, "Thank you!" In the name of Jesus my Lord. Amen.

In the Lord I put my trust

Psalm 11:1-7 KJV In the Lord put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain? [3] If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? [4] The Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord's throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men. [5] The Lord trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth. [6] Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup. [7] For the righteous Lord loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.

Break Down of 2 Chronicles 7:14

2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Its really about the order of events..
Before you pray or even seek the face of God, you must humble yourself . Humility is becoming selfless. You have to forget about yourself and your situation before you come before God.
Then you must pray... prayer is speaking to God.
Then you must seek His face.
When one has to come before a king, in order to seek him, he or she must first get into the palace.
The bible says in Psalms 24 to enter His courts with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise.
Turn from our wicked ways: during prayer, you repent. But after seeking the Face of God and entering into His presence....you will never be the same. Thus, you must turn from the wickedness that was done prior to prayer.
Then will the Lord hear from heaven, only after you become humble, casting down pride, only after you genuinely speak to Him and come before His presence like the debtor went before the king. The king had mercy upon him, just as your Father in heaven will have mercy upon you. Which is what's next: He'll forgive your sin.
And then He'll heal your land. The land is cursed after the disobedience.
Once you obey, the land is healed.
